Sustainable urban management and the European Commission

The Netherlands Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the
Environment and the Ministry of Economic Affairs requested Novem to conduct a
descriptive research into sustainable urban management and effects on it of
European policy making. On May 8 2001, Novem presented the results during a
workshop on Sustain 2001.
The descriptive research consisted of a written questionnaire and personal
interviews with European, successful "sustainable" cities, the European
Commission, the oil industry, and international cities networking organisations.
